In the third quarter of 2024, the social app landscape in the United Kingdom showcased notable trends across the top five applications, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.

TikTok saw a peak in weekly revenue of around $2.3M in mid-July, with a gradual decline towards the end of September, finishing at approximately $2M. Weekly downloads started strong at 199K in early July but tapered off, ending the quarter at about 155K. The app maintained a robust user base with weekly active users fluctuating slightly around the 19.5M mark throughout the quarter.

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat experienced a consistent weekly revenue trend, peaking at nearly $290K at the end of September. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight increase to 8K in early September. Weekly active users saw a decrease from 403K to approximately 367K by the quarter's end.

The Plenty of Fish Dating App showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, culminating in roughly $123K at the end of September. Downloads were consistent, hovering around 8K to 9K weekly. However, the app experienced a decline in active users, dropping from 94K to about 63K over the quarter.

Facebook demonstrated a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching $120K by the end of September. Downloads remained robust, with a peak of 104K in late July. The app's active user base was stable, maintaining around 35M throughout the quarter.

Finally, Instagram witnessed a revenue peak of approximately $223K in late September. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 129K in mid-September. Weekly active users remained consistent, with a slight increase to 18M by the end of the quarter.
